His father wanted him to become an army officer, but he had different dreams. He started playing when he was in school. - Domestic career
Ravindra Jadeja started his professional career by making an Under-19 appearance in 2005. After this, he was selected for the under-19 World Cup in 2006. His performance impressed both spectators and selectors. He was selected as the captain for the 2008 U-19 World Cup, where he played a crucial role in the Indian victory.
Jadeja made his first-class debut West Zone in Duleep trophy, for Saurashtra in the year 2006-07. In the year 2012 Jadeja became the first Indian player and eight overall to score triple centuries in his career.
He was roped in by Rajasthan Royals in the first season of the Indian premier league and played a crucial role in the victory of Rajasthan royals in the season. In 2010, he was banned due to irregularities, the next year he was roped in by Kochi Tuskers. But Kochi Tuskers eliminated itself from the IPL. In 2012, he was roped in by Chennai Super Kings and became a part of the CSK victory campaign.

Jadeja’s exemplary performance in Ranji’s trophy led to his selection in ODI against Srilanka and made his debut on 8 February 2008. He scored unbeaten 60, which made his spot fixed in the squad. Since then Jadeja has been an integral part of the Indian ODI team.
After his ODI success, he made his T20I in 2012-13. But he was criticized for his slow batting, however, he improved his skills and now is a well-known cricketer. In 2012-13, he scored two 300+ and earned a call for a test debut. He performed exceptionally well in his debut match against England.
