Meet Walker Wilson of The Voice Season 23

Walker Wilson is a renowned American singer and songwriter who achieved great fame by appearing on Season 23 of the highly acclaimed NBC show, The Voice. The season was coached by Chance the Rapper, Kelly Clarkson, Niall Horan, and Blake Shelton and hosted by the ever-popular Carson Daly.

Birth & Early Life

Walker Wilson was born in Mississippi. From the earliest of ages, Wilson was singing along to the radio, with his parents amazed at his natural affinity for music. When, Wilson was at of 5, he had already joined several church choirs and gone on to sing in the Mississippi All State Choir.

As Wilson entered his teenage years, Wilson picked up the guitar at 12, but like many kids his age, put it away again shortly after. But that all changed when he was 15, after watching a documentary about The Eagles, Walker was inspired to pick up the guitar again and began to practice for hours on end, mastering the skill of singing and playing simultaneously. When he was 19, Walker played his first live gig as an acoustic opener for one of his friends’ local bands.

Education

In 2020, Walker graduated from the technical college with an impressive degree in Machine Tool Technology, beginning a career as a CNC Machinist.

Before The Voice 23

Walker worked diligently, putting in 35-40 hours each week Monday through Thursday and also perfomed shows on Fridays and Saturdays.

His enthusiasm for his job in the machine shop wavered however he developed a passion for playing music, causing him to reconsider his life’s direction.

Career

Walker had been saving up for quite some time and was finally able to realize his goal of relocating to Nashville in June 2021. Now, he is fully present in his passion, writing and performing music to the masses on nearly a weekly basis.

In same year, he released his debut song “Little Less Here”. After one year, he released his second single “Dear Raymond.

Walker got fame from NBC’s singing competition show, “The Voice,” hosted by the beloved Carson Daly. This show is divided into five exciting rounds of competition – blind auditions, battle rounds, knockouts, playoffs and live performance shows.

He performed The Band of Heathens’ “Hurricane” during The Voice Blind Auditions. He received two chair turn from Niall Horan, and Blake Shelton. Later he decided to join Team Blake.
