Chetan was born on 20 August 1998, in Bhavnagar, Gujarat, India. He belongs to a poor family, he can’t even afford a single pair of shoes. His father strongly opposed his career choice so he used to hide the fact that he was going to play cricket.
His uncle helped him to get a job in his shop and paid his tuition fees. That’s how he started playing cricket.
The coach of Sir Bhavsinhji Cricket Academy saw the talent in him and asked him to join the academy.

- Domestic career-
Chetan made his List A for Saurashtra on 22 February 2018, in Vijay Hazare Trophy. He played exceptionally well in his debut. On 20 November 2018, he made his first-class debut for Saurashtra in the Ranji trophy.
He made his Twenty20 debut for Saurashtra in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, on 21 February 2019. In the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, he finished as the third-highest wicket-taker.
He was selected for this year’s Indian premier league by Rajasthan Royals.

On Day 10 June 2021, BCCI announced India’s 19 men’s squad for ODI & T20I series against Sri Lanka, In this, Indian Team Squad Chetan was selected. But he was not selected in the first two ODI matches of the Indian team but in the end, he played the last match of the ODI series. He made his One Day International debut on July 23, 2021, against Sri Lanka, In his debut match, he took 2 wickets in 8 over and he bowled very well.
On this same tour, Chetan was also selected in the 2nd T20 match and he also made his T20 international debut on July 28, 2021, against Sri Lanka.
