Suresh Raina was born on 27th November 1986, in Muradnagar, Uttar Pradesh. He started playing cricket at the age of 14 years old, so he moved to Lucknow to attend Guru Gobind Singh Sports College. He has four siblings who are older than him, 3 brothers and one sister.

Career
- Domestic career-
Suresh Raina started playing cricket in the year 2000 for Uttar Pradesh, his performance led him to be the captain of Under-16s. He caught the eye of selectors in the year 2002 when he was just 15 years old, he was selected for a U-19 tour of England. A pair of half-centuries landed him a U-17 Sri Lanka tour, he made his Ranji Trophy debut for Uttar Pradesh against Assam in February 2003 but he didn’t play until the next season. He has risen to fame by playing U-19, U-18, U-17 matches against different teams.
Because of his incredible performances, he was roped in by Chennai Super Kings in 2008 for a heavy amount of money. Since then Raina has never let the team down. He is often referred to be made only for IPL format because he plays incredibly in IPL.
- International career
Suresh Raina made his ODI debut against Srilanka on 30 July 2005. Raina was on the bench in the first half of 2011 world cup but he was allowed to play when Virendra Sehwag got injured.
If there is some format in which the cricketer excels then it is T20 format. He made his T20 international debut against South Africa in the year 2006. Raina has now retired from T20 formats but his record is still shining.
Raina made his test debut five years later of his ODI debut in 2010 against Sri Lanka. He scored a century in his test debut. But Raina could not fit in the scheme of test cricket and slowly drifted away. His last test match was in 2015.
