Rahul Chahar was born on 4 August 1999 in Bharatpur, Rajasthan, India. He started his cricket journey at the early age of seven because his brother already made his cricket debut.
Seeing his brother’s performance in matches he quit his studies and started focussing on cricket. He initially wanted to be a fast bowler like his brother but his brother advised him to become a spin bowler. He performed well in district-level cricket that made him play at the state level.

Career
- Domestic career-
Deepak made his first-class debut for Odisha on 5 November 2016, at an early age of sixteen in Ranji Trophy. He performed exceptionally well in the match. The
next year he debuted in List A cricket against Madhya Pradesh on February 25, 2017, for Rajasthan in Vijay Hazare Trophy.
His unusually good performances in these matches lead him to the India U-23 squad for the ACC Emerging Teams Cup 2017, which was held in Bangladesh.
- International career
With his splendid performance in domestic cricket, he was selected in ODIs against England in U-19 Cricket World Cup. He played exceptionally in this match too. But he didn’t participate in the 2018 U-19 Cricket World Cup. He made his T20 international debut on August 6, 2019, against West Indies.
On Day 10 June 2021, BCCI announced India’s 19 men’s squad for ODI & T20I series against Sri Lanka, In this, Indian Team Squad Rahul was selected. But he was not selected in the first two ODI matches of the Indian team but in the end, he played the last match of the ODI series. He made his One Day International debut on July 23, 2021, against Sri Lanka, In his debut match, he took 3 wickets in 10 over.
