Birth & Early Life
Mychal was adopted by Randy Mulder and Jennifer Gignac when he was three months old. He was named after a former NBA player Mychal Thompson, the father of Klay Thompson. Mychal went to Catholic Central High School, where he played for the basketball team under coach Pete Cusumano. He was considered a Top 10 Canadian prospect in 2013.
In 2013, Mulder received an NCAA Division I scholarship offer for the Detroit Mercy Titans Men’s Basketball team. However, he opted to join Vincennes University and played for the college basketball team. In his sophomore year, Mulder led the team to victory and was named JUCO- All American. He has also rated the 13th best junior college prospect by 247Sports. In 2015, Mulder transferred to the University of Kentucky and played for the Kentucky Wildcats Men’s Basketball Team.

Career
In 2017, Mulder was the ninth overall pick in the NBA G League by the Windy City Bulls. She scored 13 points 4 rebounds and 1 assist in his second season with the Bulls. In 2019, Mychal signed with Miami Heat however was traded to Sioux Falls Skyforce. In 2020, Mulder signed a 10-day contract with Golden State Warriors. He made his debut against the Los Angeles Lakers and scored two points and 4 rebounds in that game. In the same year, he signed a multi-year contract with the warriors. In 2021, Mulder scored a career-high of 28 points in his win against the New Orleans Pelicans. In June, Mychal was drafted for the Team Canada roster along with Andrew Wiggins to compete in the Tokyo Olympics.
