Siraj belongs to a middle class family where his father struggles to make both ends meet every day. His father is an auto rickshaw driver in Hyderabad. Siraj was born and brought up in Hyderabad. His birthday falls on 13 March 1994.

Career
- Domestic career-
Siraj started playing cricket at a very young age. He played his first cricket match on 15 November 2015. His coaching was done by Karthik Udupa, a famous cricketer himself. Then he played for the Ranji trophy in 2015-16 and was still a part of Hyderabad’s domestic team.
Then he was not stopping anywhere he worked harder each day. Subsequently, he made his T20 debut on 2 January 2016. This match was for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy tournament in which Hyderabad took part in.
Being part of the domestic team engaged him more with world-class cricket and he took astonishing wickets in every match. This match for the Ranji trophy did wonders for Siraj as was named the highest wicket-taker for Hyderabad’s domestic cricket team.
After his spectacular performance, he signed the contract with Sunrisers Hyderabad for a whopping 2.6 crores. This bidding was held in the 2017 season of IPL that took place in February 2017. After this happy year was over he was signed by the mighty Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 2018 auction of IPL.
2018 was a fruitful year for Siraj and he became a leading wicket-taker for Vijay Hazare Trophy that was held between 2917-18. He took 23 wickets in mere seven matches and won applause by fans and supporters alike.
In another event that also took place in 2018, he now became a part of the List A team that would play for the Deodhar Trophy in 2018-19. Next year he was also part of India’s B squad for the year 2019-20.
Now Siraj made history for Indian cricket. He became the first bowler of India in IPL format ever to bowl two maiden overs in a single match.
- International career
In October 2017 he started playing international cricket. He was first selected for the Indian squad for the tour of New Zealand. It was his T20 debut match that took place on 4th November 2017 and in this match, he took the wicket of Kane Williamson.
He became part of the Nidahas Trophy in 2018. After his T20 streak, he was now selected for a Test series against West Indies but he couldn’t play in that. Next was Siraj debut in ODIs. He was in the team who will be playing against Australia. This match was held in Adelaide Oval on 15 January 2019.
Previously he didn’t get a chance to play for the test series but now he was named in the team against Australia on 26 October 2020.
His clean bowled Marnus Labuschagne and this became his first wicket in test format. He is still playing the fabulous cricket of his life. Recently he took five wickets in a Test series against Australia that took place in January 2021.
