Sanju Samson is an amazing Indian wicket-keeper batsman, who plays for Kerala in domestic cricket. He has played unusually well in the matches so far and broken many records like he became the only wicket-keeper batsman to make a double century in Vijay Hazare Trophy in List A cricket.
He has captained Rajasthan Royals in the Indian premier league and became the vice-captain of the U-19 team for the U-19 World Cup. Sanju is the youngest player to score a century in a half-century in the Indian premier league at the age of 18 against Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Birth and Early Life
Sanju was born on 11 November 1994, in Pulluvila, Vizhinjam, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India. He spent his childhood in Delhi police residential colony and went to Rosary Senior Secondary School. When he was not selected for the U-13 state team, his father shifted his family to Kerala. He pursued his high school at St. Joseph’s Higher Secondary School, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India. He later pursued his BA in English literature from Mar Ivanios College.

Career
- Domestic career
Sanju made his first-class cricket debut for the Kerala Cricket team in the Ranji Trophy on 3 November 2011 against Vidarbha, he was just 17 when he debuted for this match. He played mind-blowing in this season of Ranji trophy and left a mark in the minds of both spectators and selectors.
In 2013-14 he scored a double century against Assam, who also made a nice score. His contribution led to Kerala winning the match. He came out as the highest run-getter in this season of Ranji trophy.
He was applauded for this greatest peak in his career when in the 2019-20 season during the Vijay Hazare match against Goa, he smashed an unbeaten double-century.
In 2013, Rajasthan royals roped him in, but he didn’t play well. In 2017, he was selected by Delhi Capitals and he didn’t disappoint them as he scored third highest runs.
- International career
In 2015, he made his first appearance for India in a T20I game. He didn’t perform well in this match and he only managed to score 19 runs off 24 deliveries, and since then he has never played for India again. He was selected for the T20I series of the India tour of New Zealand in 2020 and was part of the playing eleven as an opener.
On Day 10 June 2021, BCCI announced India’s 19 men’s squad for ODI & T20I series against Sri Lanka, In this, Indian Team Squad Sanju was selected. He was not selected in the first two ODI matches of the Indian team but in the end, he played the last match of the ODI series. He made his One Day International debut on July 23, 2021, against Sri Lanka, In his debut match, he scored 49 (49) runs with a strike rate of 100.
