He was bought by Rising Pune Supergiant in the 2017 Indian premier league for INR 10 lakhs. He has always been a phenomenal player, he scored exceptionally well for the Maharashtrian team in 2018-19 in the Ranji trophy.

Birth and Early life
Rahul Tripathi was born on 2 March, 1991 in Ranchi, Jharkhand, India. His family proudly recalled that he picked up the bat when he was just an infant of nine. As a child he used to play cricket with all kinds of stationery.
Soon he started going to cricket academy in Lucknow. Later when his father was transferred to Pune he started playing cricket there. He enrolled in Deccan Gymkhana where he started honing his cricket skills under the guidance and support of Kedar Jogelkar and Hemant Athalye.

Career
- Domestic career-
Rahul debuted in the under-15 category in 2004 and he made his under 17 debuts in 2006 both for the Maharashtra team. Soon started playing cricket for under-19 level cricket.
He started his List A career in February 16, 2010, for Maharashtra against Baroda in Vijay Hazare Trophy. He was sent to the pavilion even before opening, however, he scored a half-century in the same tournament, in the third match. Rahul was a lead run-scorer in the Ranji trophy 2018-19 for team Maharashtra.
On 22 December, 2012 he made his first class debut against Baroda, although he didn’t fare well.
