Kelly Oubre Jr. was born on 8th December 1995 inNew Orleans, Louisiana to Kelly Oubre Sr. and Tonya Coleman. The family lived in a public housing project in his early part of the childhood. Oubre attended Edward hynes Elementary School. He was a part of the basketball team, Three Milne Boys Home during that time. In 2005, Oubre and his family moved to Texas where he attended George Bush High School in Fort Bend, Texas. In his senior year, he transferred to Findlay Prep in Henderson, Nevada.
After graduating in 2013, He decided to play for the Kansas Jayhawks in 2014-15. He was named Big 12 Newcomer of the Week twice and earned the All-Newcomer Team honors. He also earned the All-Big 12 Honorable mention. In 2015, Oubre got named for the NBA draft.

Career
Oubre was selected for Atlanta Hawks in 2015 but was traded to the Washington Wizards. In 2016, Oubre recorded his very first 10 points and 10 rebounds playing against Sacramento Kings. In the same year, he also scores a career-high 19 points in Washington’s win over the Milwaukee Bucks. In 2017-18, he tallied a career-high with 26 points in a win over Detroit Pistons. In 2018, Oubre score a then-season high of 23 points in his match against the victorious Indiana Pacers.
In the same year, he was traded to the Phoenix Suns. In 2019 he scored his 26 point career high. In March 2019, he was ruled out from the rest of the season due to an injury. In the same year, he helps his team to win against the New Orlean Pelican, Charlotte Hornets, and Houstons Rockets and scored a career-high 38 points. In 2020, Oubre got ruled out due to a knee injury. He didn’t play for the rest of the 2019-20 NBA season. In November 2020, Oubre was traded to Golden State Warriors.
