Eric Paschall was born on 4th November 1996, to Juan Eric Paschall and Cecelia Paschall. He started playing basketball at a young age and earned the name “Stepzz” because of his deadly stepback. He attended Dobbs Fery Gih School and played for the team. As a junior, he was named state Class B player of the year and Westchester County Mr. Basketball. Paschall did his senior year in St Thomas More School. He helped his school team advance for the National Prep School Championship title game. He was awarded the NEPSAC AAA Player of the year.
In 2014, Eric joined Fordham University and played for their team, Fordham Rams. He was named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week twice. In 2016 he transferred to Villanova and joined the Villanova Wildcats Basketball Team. As a sophomore, he recorded his season-high 19 points. In the Sweet Sixteen of the 2018 NCAA Tournament, he helped his team win over West Virginia scoring 14 points. In his senior year, Paschall was named to the First Team All-Big East.

In 2019, he got drafted to the 2019 NBA by the Golden State Warriors. He made his debut on October 24, 2019, and scored 14 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 steals in the game against Los Angeles Clippers. He scored his career-high 34 points on November 4 in a win over Portland Trail Blazers. In 2020, He was named 2019-20 NBA All-Rookie First Team by the NBA.
