Rankireddy was born on 13th August 2000 in Amalapuram, Andhra Pradesh. He hails from a sporting family where both his dad and older brother were state-level badminton players. At the age of 14, the young shuttler joined the Pullela Gopichand Academy to train to become a doubles player.

Career
Satwik made his debut in 2014 at the Sushant Chipalkatti Memorial India Junior International Badminton Championship but did not qualify for the main draw. However, he made his comeback in the following edition winning gold in the Men’s doubles with Krishna Prasad. In 2015, he made his international debut at Tata Open India International Challenge along with Maneesha K won the Mixed Doubles. In the same year, Satwik made it to the Quarterfinals of Mixed Doubles with Riya Mookerjee in the Yonex German Junior International Challenge.
The team lost the game to South Korea. In 2016, Satwik and Chirag won the Yonex Sunrise Bangladesh International Challenge. Satwik also bagged the mixed doubled titles with Maneesha K. The Satwik-Chirag duo also won the Tata Open International Challenge and the SATS India International Series. The team also bagged the gold in the Mauritius International 2016.
Satwik also won the mixed Doubles with Maneesha K in the same series. In 2017, Satwik and Aswini settled for bronze in the Yonex Dutch Open 2017 Mixed Doubles. In 2018, Satwik won the silver medal in the Syed Modi International Badminton Championship Men’s Doubles. He also won the bronze medal in the Yonex French Open Men’s doubles.
He claimed the silver medal in the 2019 edition. Satwik claimed the silver medal in the 2018 Commonwealth Games Men’s Doubles with Chirag Shetty. In July 2019, the Satwik Chirag duo won the Toyota Thailand Open against China. The team clinched the gold medal in the 34th Brazil International Challenge. In 2020, Satwik competed in the Yonex German open Mixed doubles and the Daihatsu Indonesia Masters 2020 Men’s Doubles.
In 2021, Satwik and Chirag won bronze medals in the Yonex Swiss Open Men’s Double and the Toyota Thailand Open Men’s and Mixed doubles. Satwik and Chirag were selected to participate in the Tokyo Olympics 2020 which is to begin on 23rd July 2021.
