Ravi Kumar Dahiya was born on 12 December 1997 in Nahri, Sonipat, Haryana. His father Rakesh would travel to 40km (Approx.) everyday form their village to the Chhatrasal Stadium to give milk and fruits to Ravi that he can get proper diet.

Career

Ravi started his career in wrestling at the age of 10. He played his first match in 2015, Junior World Championship in category of 55kg and received silver medal losing by Mahir Amiraslanov. After that in 2017, he did not play any match due to injury. Later in 2018, World U23 Wrestling Championship in category of 57kg he won Silver medal.

In 2019, Ravi was the part of Pro Wrestling league representing the title winning team, Haryana Hammers. After that, he failed to qualify in 2019 Asian Wrestling Championship. Later on he made his debut in World Championship in 2019 and received bronze medal.

In 2020, he was part of Olympic Games Wrestling (freestyle) in the category of 57kg and won silver medal losing by Zaur Uguev. In same year he was also a part of Asian Championship in category of 57kg and won gold medal. Again in 2021 he participated of Asian Championship and won Gold medal. Later on in 2022, he was seen of Asian Championship and won gold medal defeating by Rakhat Kalzhan. In Yasar Dogu Tournament 2022, in category of 61kg he name gold medal defeating by Gulomjon Abdullaev (score 11-10). Now, 2022 he is the part of Commonwealth games and won gold medal.
