Career
Saumya started her career as a model. In 2006, she became first runner up in the Femina Cover Girl. Same year, she also made her debut in television with the serial Aisa Des Hai Mera. She got huge popularity with Imtiaz Ali directed bollywood film Jab We Met in which she played character of Kareena Kapoor’s sister Roop Dhillon. Later she hosted many television programs like Dance India Dance, Bournvita Quiz Contest, LG Mallika-e-Kitchen,Entertainment Ki Raat (Season-2) etc. She also received the Best Anchor award for Dance India Dance.
In 2015, Saumya received enormous fame with her role of Anita Vibhuti Narayan in the &TV sitcom Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hai! opposite to Aasif Sheikh. Although on 21 August 2020, she quit Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hain!.
