She has done mass communication from Sophia College for Women, Mumbai. While graduation, Nitya started performing at theatres. She later also pursued post-graduation in Acting and Theatre Making from The Drama School, Mumbai from 2018-19.

In 2020, Nitya got her first acting role in MX Player’s web series High, portraying role of Ishani alongside Akshay Oberoi, Ranvir Shorey and Mrinmayee Godbole. She consequently got chance to play a supporting role in Madhuri Dixit starring web series The Fame Game. In 2022, she played a major role in Disney+ Hotstar series Tazaa Khabar.
