Izel Bezuidenhout is a South African actress and voice over artist. She is best known for her performance as Melissa in film Wild is the Wind. She has also acted in several television series including Op Soek na Reënboë, Spoorloos, 7de Laan and Bloedbroers. Bezuidenhout has been active in acting since 2014.
Biography
Izel Bezuidenhout was born in Johannesburg, South Africa. She started her career as a theatre artist and worked in couple of plays like Balkie directed by Hydie Loots (2009) and SMS-Babakoors directed by Hydie Loots (2012). She made acting debut through feature film Agent 2000 directed by Stephan Nieuwoudt in 2014. The show year, she was seen in TV series Bloedboers Support as Young Antionette in 2014. In 2015, she played the lead role of Anna in film Dis Ek, Anna. Bezuidenhout subsequently appeared in several films including DS Tienie (2017), Naamlose Woord (2017), An Act of Defiance (2016) and Vaselinetjie (2016).
Bezuidenhout rose to fame by portraying lead role POPPIE in Jenna Bass’s film Flatland. She earned Best performer award at Silwerskerm Film Festival in 2019. In 2021, she simultaneously worked in four film named Wild is the Wind, For Piet’s Sake, Opstraat and Nagvrees.
